Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)

CURRENTLY ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR january/ february OF 2022

CERT - Community Emergency Response TeamResponsibilities

The Bixby Police Department is accepting applications for their Community Emergency Response Team which is known as CERT  for short. The program educates people about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, search and rescue, disaster psychology, and response team organization. Using the training learned in the classroom and during exercises, members can assist others in their neighborhood or workplace following an emergency event when professional responders are not immediately available to help. Members are also encouraged to support emergency response agencies by taking a more active role in emergency preparedness projects in their communities.
